Raised Floor Grommets
Grommets seal cable cutouts in raised floor tiles to prevent/bypass airflow, optimize the effectiveness of existing cooling equipment, and manage increasing heat loads. IT equipment is generating more heat than ever, and the cost to cool that equipment is increasing. According to the Uptime Institute, Inc.™, electricity consumed by IT equipment is the primary driver of data center infrastructure costs. Based on measurements at multiple data centers, 50-80% of valuable conditioned air is not reaching the air intake of IT equipment due to unsealed cable openings. This lost air, known as bypass airflow, contributes to equipment hot spots, cooling unit inefficienciplayes, and increased infrastructure costs. Sealing cable and hose openings is an essential component of IT equipment reliability and availability. By installing KoldLok raised-floor grommets, you can optimize the effectiveness of your existing cooling equipment and manage the increasing heat loads. The patented KoldLok sealing system specifically addresses bypass airflow and its detrimental effects on data center cooling. When installing the Coolcentric data center cooling solution, it is recommended that grommets be installed where the supply and return hoses penetrate the raised floor tile – at both the Rear Door or Sidecar Heat Exchanger, and the Coolant Distribution Unit. Coolcentric Water Treatment
Coolcentric data center cooling water treatment solutions maintain clean heat transfer surfaces and eliminate pitting to protect the system from downtime and reduced efficiency. Proper treatment of the water in the secondary cooling loop is essential to ensure the performance and longevity of the Coolcentric data center equipment cooling solution. Using the building's regular water supply could be detrimental, by increasing the chances of scaling, corrosion and fouling in the system. Even deionized water without corrosion inhibitors is corrosive.
Coolcentric specially formulated water treatment solution maintains clean heat transfer surfaces and protects the system from downtime and reduced efficiency. When replacing the water treatment solution in Rear Door or Sidecar Heat Exchangers , Coolcentric offers a cleaning fluid that can be used to flush out the coil, ensuring that the system is as clean as possible. Both the water treatment and cleaning fluid are available in ready-to-use kits in five-gallon (19-liter) or 55-gallon (209-liter) sizes, which make the filling and commissioning process simple.
Coolcentric External Manifold Kits
Coolcentric external manifold kits provide users with a permanent, hard-piped connection between the Rear Door or Sidecar Heat Exchangers and the Coolant Distribution Unit. The external manifolds are made with copper piping and can be manufactured with a variety of connections, such as drip-proof, quick-connect couplings, or NPT fittings.
The external manifold kit ensures that the chilled water connections within the Coolcentric system are drip-proof and long-lasting. Coolcentric manufactures each external manifold kit using highly engineered materials, and performs strict quality tests on each assembly to maintain a high level of integrity.
Coolcentric Hose Kits
Hose kits for data center cooling systems provide a flexible connection between the secondary cooling devices (ie: Rear Door Heat Exchanger (RDHx); Sidecar) and the Coolant Distribution Unit or External Manifold. The hose kits install quickly and adapt easily to unique physical layouts in your data center. Quick-connect couplings provide plug-and-play operation and eliminate the need to braze pipes near equipment racks. Flexible hosing is easily deployed under raised floors or overhead, allowing the cooling solution to be scaled as needed. Unlike hard-piped manifolds, flexible hose kits are not fixed in place and can be easily rearranged, allowing for frequent realignments of equipment.
The hose kit ensures that the chilled water connections within the Coolcentric system are drip-proof and long-lasting. Coolcentric manufactures each hose kit using highly engineered materials and performs strict quality tests on each hose assembly.
Each hose is made of an inert, abrasion-resistant material called ethylene propylene diene monomer. Every fitting is made of stainless steel, and is available as a self-sealing, drip-proof, quick-disconnect coupling or as a threaded NPT fitting. Every coupling is individually tested using a helium gas test, then every completed hose assembly is subjected to a 250psi (1760uPa) leak test; the maximum in normal operation is 70-95psi (460uPa to 660uPa).
